By day, Mama Haus is Johannesburg's home for working mothers. On evenings and weekends, the space is yours: birthday parties, baby showers, networking evenings, conferences and celebrations, in the prettiest corner of Melrose Estate.

Considered interiors. A private garden. Furniture, coffee and warmth already in place. The kind of venue you don't have to dress up, because it already is.
From little birthdays to grown-up evenings, the space moves with your moment.
Evenings and weekends. Book the space that fits your moment.
Focus Space
The quiet wing: focus rooms and meeting spaces, ideal for workshops, strategy sessions, shoots and intimate gatherings.
Living Space
The heart of the haus: the open lounge and living floor, made for showers, parties, dinners and networking evenings.
Full Venue
Every room, all yours: the living space, focus wing, reception lounge and baby quarters for your littlest guests.
The outside garden area (evenings and weekends only) · full use of our furniture and layouts · coffees, teas and the water dispenser · a Mama Haus host on duty · standard cleaning · a space that photographs beautifully, as it stands.
Childcare, on duty. Our own caregivers run the baby quarters while you celebrate, at a one-nanny-to-three-babies ratio. Bring the little ones; keep the conversation.
Bookings are four-hour blocks or full days; there are no hourly hires. Every booking starts with the enquiry form: we check the date against the haus calendar and our own member events, then send your quote and invoice. The 50% deposit secures it from there.
When: weekday evenings from 5pm, and weekends through the day. Setup time is arranged with your booking, and evenings wrap by 10pm out of respect for our Melrose Estate neighbours.
Little guests: this is the one venue in Johannesburg actually built for children. The baby quarters and garden make family events effortless, and our caregivers can be on duty for R500 per nanny.
How booking works: send the enquiry first. We confirm your date is clear of our own member and community events, then send a quote and invoice. The 50% deposit secures the date, with the balance due before the event. Deposits are transferable to a new date with reasonable notice, and a refundable damage deposit may apply to larger celebrations.
Capacity: the Living Space seats 25, the Focus Space seats 20, and the Full Venue brings both together with the garden, up to 45 seated. Final layouts are confirmed on enquiry.
The haus rules: right of admission is reserved and every event is approved at our discretion. We are a family-first venue, and we only accept events consistent with that ethos. Hirers are responsible for their guests and for any damage to the space, and parking is at guests' own risk. The full terms come with your hire agreement.
You bring the occasion. The haus brings the atmosphere.
Every event starts here. Share the basics, we'll confirm the date is free around our own haus events, and your quote and invoice follow.
Thirty seven Glenhove Road has seen first birthdays, brave new businesses and long overdue celebrations. It would love to see yours.
