FAQ

What mothers ask most.

Still wondering about something? WhatsApp us. We love a good question.

Is Mama Haus a daycare?
No. Mama Haus is a coworking space with professional childcare on site. You stay in the house the whole time, and your baby is a few steps away in our supervised nursery. No drop-off, no separation.
Is this coworking with childcare or childminding?
Both words apply. We say childminding because you stay on site, but the care itself is full, ECD-led childcare: a gentle, routine-based day run by qualified nannies while you work.
What ages do you care for?
Babies and toddlers from 0 to 3 years.
What is the nanny-to-baby ratio?
One nanny for every three babies. Safety and gentle attention come first, and nursery capacity is deliberately limited for that reason.
How are your nannies trained?
Every nanny at Mama Haus is ECD-qualified (Early Childhood Development), CPR-certified and first-aid-trained, vetted and background-checked. They run a loving, gentle, stimulating daily routine: sensory play, music, story time, age-appropriate activities, regular feeds and naps.
Can I leave the premises while my child is in the nursery?
No. Mama Haus is designed around you working in the house while your child is cared for nearby. If you need to step out, please take your little one with you or arrange it with us in advance.
What happens if my baby cries or needs me?
Your nanny comes to find you, or you simply walk over. Most mothers find that both they and their baby settle faster than expected after the first visit.
Do you provide food, bottles and nappies?
You bring lunch for yourself and your baby, along with bottles and nappies. We provide a fully equipped feeding station, microwave, fridge and quiet pumping pods, so anything you bring can be warmed or chilled on arrival. Coffee, herbal teas and fresh water are always available.
Can I come for an hour or a day before joining?
Yes, with no membership needed. Hourly visits are R100 an hour (R150 for couples): pay a R100 deposit online and settle the rest at reception when you leave. The day pass is R395 and can be booked online. Both include childcare. If you join a membership afterwards, your day-pass value comes off your first month.
Can I bring two children?
Yes. Plans for two and three children are available on every membership, and you can add a second child when you book.
How do I book?
Day passes and memberships are booked and paid online through our secure booking page. Hourly visits take a R100 deposit online. If you would rather talk first, WhatsApp us and we will help.
