World-class childcare, three doors from your desk.
This is the part that makes Mama Haus work. Your baby or toddler is cared for by trained nannies in a calm nursery inside the house, and you are never more than a short walk away.
How it works
You stay. That is the whole idea.
Mama Haus is not a daycare and there is no drop-off. You work in the house while our team cares for your child in the nursery, and you can feed, cuddle or check in whenever you want to. Nobody will ever ask you to wait.
Your nanny meets you at the nursery door when you arrive. Share your child's routine, take as long as you need to settle her, and go to your desk when she is happy.
- Ages
- Babies and toddlers from 0 to 3 years.
- The team
- Every nanny is ECD-qualified (Early Childhood Development), CPR-certified and first-aid-trained, vetted and background-checked.
- Groups
- One nanny for every three babies, so every child gets real attention.
- The routine
- Gentle and routine-based: feeds, naps, sensory play, music, story time and outdoor play in the garden, following the rhythm you share with us.
- Feeding
- A fully equipped feeding station with a microwave and fridge, and quiet pumping pods. Anything you bring can be warmed or chilled on arrival.
- Resting
- Cots and a quiet room for sleeps. A feeding and resting room for you, too.
- To bring
- Nappies, wipes, a change of clothes, milk or formula, bottles, and your child's lunch and snacks. Coffee, tea and water are always on for you.
- Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Please arrive by 9am so the day settles early. Saturdays and public holidays by arrangement.
The questions mothers ask first
Before your first day.
What happens if my baby cries or needs me?
Your nanny comes to find you, or you simply walk over. You are in the same house, usually a few doors away. Most mothers find that after the first visit, both they and their baby settle faster than they expected.
Is this a daycare?
No. At a daycare you drop off and leave. At Mama Haus you stay on site and work while your child is cared for nearby. We use the word childminding for that reason, but the care itself is full, ECD-led childcare.
Can I bring two children?
Yes. Plans for two and three children are available on every membership, and you can add a second child when you book a day pass. Message us if you would like to talk it through first.
Can I come for an hour before committing to a day?
Yes. Hourly visits are R100 an hour, childcare included. Pay a R100 deposit online and settle the rest at reception when you leave.
